1842	Railway line from Redhill to Folkestone opened via Tonbridge and Ashford by South Eastern Railway. Paddock Wood Station opened (Known then as Maidstone Road).
1844	Branch line to Maidstone opened and renamed Paddock Wood
1864	Plan put forward by the Weald of Kent Railway for a line to run from Paddock Wood to Hythe via. Cranbrook and Tenterden (nothing came of it)
1877	The Cranbrook and Paddock Wood Railway was incorporated. Obtained powers in August of that year for a line from Paddock Wood to Cranbrook.
1879	Work commenced in February on building the line, but, came to a halt through lack of funding
1882	Further act passed to extend the line from Cranbrook to Hawkhurst (1.5 Miles)
1891	Construction commenced
1892	Opening of the Paddock Wood to Goudhurst (Then called Hope Mill for Goudhurst and Lamberhurst) section on 1st October 1892.Operated by South Eastern Railway.
1893	Opening of the extension to Hawkhurst on 4th September and renaming of Hope Mill to Cranbrook.
1899	The South Eastern and London, Chatham and Dover Railway agree to work together under the South Eastern & Chatham Railway Management Committee.
1900	The Cranbrook and Paddock Wood Railway Company was absorbed into the South Eastern Railway
	Cranbrook and Tenterden Railway Company granted powers to build a link between the Hawkhurst Branch and the Rother Valley Railway (This was never built)
1961	Last day of public services on Saturday 10th June 1961. (See Closure Notice)
